ECOViP project officially launched

Attended by officials and students from partner countries and universities, the ECOVIP project, co-funded by Erasmus, was official launched on July 11, 2023 in Nha Trang University, Vietnam.

Speeches by Higher Education Officials from Philippines, Vietnam were delivered to formally express each partner's commitment to ecotourism and sustainability. Assoc. Prof. Trang Si Trung, Rector of Nha Trang University; His Excellency Maynardo Mentealegre, Ambassador of Embassy of the Philippines in Hanoi Vietnam; Mr. Tran Van Dat, Head of the Political Education; Mrs. Lily Freida Macabangun - Milla, Director-In-Charge, International Affairs Service of Commission of Higher Education of the Philippines were among the people who welcomed the delegation in Vietnam. 

Dr. Khong Trung Thang from Nha Trang University, project coordinator, introduced the ECOVIP project, its objectives and goals while Ms. Cristina Beans from University of Alicante shared the opportunities and impact of Eramus+ Capavity Building in Higher Education projects. 

Afterwards, invited guest speakers shared their expertise on different topics. Mrs. Bui Thi Ninh, Director of the Bureau for Employers' Activities, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry talked about employers' perspective on industry engagement in skills development; Ms. Sophia Ordona, Associate Director, European Chamber of Commerce to the Philippines shared practices on strengthening business-academe cooperation in promoting sustainable tourism in the Philippines; and Prof. Maria Jose Villaplana, University of Alicante, on how to create stories worth telling.
